The Hyperterminal application helps you to connect with other remote computers, and for System or Network Admins, it used to connect to switches or routers and carry out maintenance operations.
Unfortunately, this application is not provide by Microsoft on Windows 7 and Vista. Of course, we can change it with another free application that have same function, like PUTTY. But it is not same like hyperterminal. Many features is not included. We got a better workaround to install HyperTerminal client to WIndows 7 and Vista for free.
To get Hyperterminal working on Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter), simply copy the HyperTrm.DLL and HyperTrm.EXE files to a folder on your Windows 7 or Vista PC.
That’s it! No magic required. You should now be able to double click the file and enjoy the HyperTerminal goodness.
But I still recommend using PuTTY. 😉
