What is Windows Sidebar? What are Gadgets?

By | 2007-04-12

Windows Sidebar is a vertical bar on the Windows Vista desktop that displays visual objects called “gadgets”. Gadgets can display information such as the current time, provide a mini notepad where you can jot down important information, display photos as a slideshow, provide quick games for you to play, and more.

Some Windows Sidebar gadgets can communicate over the Internet, displaying updated weather, feeds from various news sources, items available for purchase on eBay, and more.
