Default IE To Full Screen Mode

By | 2008-10-09

Most people don’t know you can run Internet Explorer in Full Screen mode.  Full Screen mode allows you to see more of the pages you are surfing, without the need to scroll around, and reduces the clutter of the taskbar, sidebar, etc.

Sure, you can just press F11 to toggle full screen mode.  But this is a geek site, so I”m going to show you how to do it registry-style.  This will make the default viewing mode of IE full screen, rather than standard window mode.

Start/Run/Regedit then go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console.

In the right pane find FullScreen and modify the value to 1. Then go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Main

In the right pane find FullScreen and modify the value to yes.

Exit/Reboot.

To reverse this, simple change the values back to what they were, and reboot once again.
