Enable or Disable the CD-ROM Autorun Feature

You can enable the CD-ROM autorun function by changing this registry setting, this will stop applications from auto launching when you insert a CD-ROM disc into your drive.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Change to value of ‘Autorun’, or create a new DWORD value if it doesn’t already exist, and set the data to equal ‘0’ for Autorun disabled.

Restart your computer for the changes to take affect.

Value Name: Autorun
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)
