Have you got tired of the alerts generated by User Account Countrol? So frustrated that you turned it down to “Never Notify”? Well, you might have noticed that you no longer have your beloved gadgets after restarting.

To re-enable your default gadgets, make the below registry change:

  1. Start Regedit
  2. Go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Sidebar \ Settings
  3. Right-click on the right panel and create a new DWORD (32-Bit) Value named AllowElevatedProcess.
  4. Double click on this and give it a value of 1
