Increasing System Performance

By | 2006-09-28

If you have 512 megs or more of memory, you can increase system performance by having the core system kept in memory.

  1. Start Regedit
  2. Go to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\DisablePagingExecutive
  3. Set the value to be 1
  4. Reboot the computer

! WARNING !!
Prior to making registry changes, be sure to make a backup of the registry. Unexpected things can happen, with a simple typographical error. Be safe, stay sane.
